Meet MARKETING EDGE’s panelist @ IMC 2nd Quarterly Virtual Summit – Tolulope Medebem

Tolu Medebem is a shining star in the Nigerian marketing firmament. She is the Vice President of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN) and Chief Executive Officer of Aster Integrated Marketing Limited, an experiential marketing agency which she founded years ago. With almost three decades of professional expertise in brand management, marketing communications, sponsorship, strategic planning, public relations, and budget management amongst others, Medebem, has made impressive contributions to the excellence of experiential marketing in Nigeria.

She kicked off her career journey at FKG2(Troyka Group) in 2003 as a Senior Account Director before venturing to Dansa Foods Limited where she was tasked with the development of communication ideas for the various categories of brands including Dansa Fruit Juices and ZIZA Dairy Products.

In 2009, Medebem joined brand activation company, Brand Footprint where she served in the capacity of Activation/sponsorship director, leading all activations and sponsorships within the company. After her time at Brand Footprint, Medebem served as Managing partner at Eventplus Integrated Marketing Services before establishing her own full service experiential marketing, PR and event agency, Aster Integrated Marketing Limited in 2019.

She has also worked extensively on various accounts including MTN, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Multichoice, M-Net & Supersports, Miss Commonwealth (Nigeria & International), V-Mobile and Zain (now Airtel), Procter & Gamble (P&G), British American Tobacco (BAT), First Inland Bank, and Intercontinental Bank amongst many others.

Medebem who holds a degree in Dramatic Arts from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife, in Nigeria, is also a graduate of the China European International Business School (CEIBS) / WELA Programme. In 2016, she was one of 500 women selected to pioneer the EDC/Cherie Blair Foundation Road to Women’s Business Growth programme. In 2020, Medebem was also awarded as one of Africa Woman’s leaders by World Women Leadership Congress.

She is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants, Certified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIMN). She became a facilitator for LSETF after undergoing training with LBS / Lagos State. She’s also a Unido/HP certified trainer, currently volunteering with Lagos State as a facilitator for the RSW (ReadySetWork) programme.
