LASACO appoints Disu as new board chairman

LASACO Assurance Plc has appointed Mrs. Aderinola Disu as the new chairman of the company’s board of directors.
Mrs. Disu whose appointment took immediate effect took over from Mr. Ashim Oyekan who resigned from the board, having served the company for 19 years.

Disclosing this development in a statement, Managing Director of the company, Mr. Segun Balogun affirmed that LASACO was very fortunate to have appointed Mrs. Disu as the new chairman of the board because of her wealth of experience and caliber.

Balogun added that Disu will bring her experience, both from the public and private sectors, adding that she also has impressive record and wide business interests in strategic sectors in Nigeria.
“LASACO Assurance is extremely fortunate to have appointed a chairman of such caliber and experience” Balogun said in the statement.

Disu holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and she is also an alumnus of Lagos Business School.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom (UK). Her career spans over 20 years in private legal practice and with T.A Braithwaite & Co (insurance brokers), where she rose to the post of Executive Vice-Chairman between 1993 and 2003.

She is the former executive secretary and later chairman of Lagos Island Local Government and was also a member of Lagos State Executive Council as the special adviser on Central Business Districts under the former Governor Babatunde Fashola, from 2011 to 2014.
