Big Brother Naija Season 11 winner, Temi Nkem, has formally received the Hyundai SUV and ₦90 million cash component of her ₦160 million grand prize package, two days after she was crowned winner of the “Show Ya Sef” edition of the reality show.
The handover ceremony took place on Tuesday at the MultiChoice studios in Lagos, where the 21-year-old arrived and several of her fellow Season 11 housemates, including Aikou, Tram, Bluethopia, Araga, Oyin, Chimsom, Bells and Yusuf.
Speaking with the press in an interview session with the winner, Temi expressed gratitude to God, her family, and her supporters, particularly members of her fanbase known as the “Teminators,” while also thanking the viewers whose votes secured her the title over a gruelling 70-day stay in the house. She disclosed that she already has plans in place for investing her cash winnings, though she did not go into specifics.
Temi was declared winner at the live finale on Sunday, October 4, polling 25.87 per cent of the final votes to edge out Aikou, who finished as first runner-up with 23.68 per cent, a winning margin of just 2.19 percentage points. Sheba rounded out the podium in third place with 9.80 per cent of the vote. With her win, Temi becomes only the fifth female winner in Big Brother Naija’s history, joining the ranks of Mercy Eke, Phyna, Ilebaye and Imisi.
Her emergence brought the curtain down on ten weeks of competition among 24 housemates, a season defined by its share of drama and unpredictability, from a staged fake eviction and the controversy surrounding BB Bucks, to in-house romances, shifting alliances, and the twist-laden Gambit challenge that repeatedly altered the balance of power in the house.
Throughout it all, Temi’s outspoken and unpredictable personality kept her consistently at the centre of conversation, while her repeated survival through nomination rounds steadily built her path to the final.
