Enhancing Public Transport with Digital Integration

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Olukemi Amure, who represented the Managing Director of LAMATA, Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, explained that the project was designed to elevate the public transport experience by integrating digital communication channels.

Also, she stated that in today’s digital era, a modern public transport system must go beyond mobility to also inform, engage, and enrich the commuter experience.

“In this digital age, we recognized that a truly modern public transport system must be more.

It must also inform, engage and enhance the overall commuter experience.

This is the very gap this smart impulse solution is forced to fill today.

We are not only launching screens, we are launching a dynamic channel for communication,” she said.

A Four-Year Vision Realized

In the same vein, Dr. Amure highlighted the project’s four-year journey and expressed gratitude for its eventual implementation, emphasizing LAMATA’s continuous goal of providing safe, reliable, and efficient transport services across Lagos.

In addition, She explained that the collaboration with indigenous firms like Docu2Data aligns with LAMATA’s strategy to adopt homegrown technology solutions.

“We are deliberate in our commitment to partner with indigenous companies like Docu2Data, who possess a unique understanding of our local content and challenges.

So, by embedding such innovative digital solutions into our infrastructure, we are not only enhancing public transport but also fueling the goals of our tech ecosystem,” she noted.

Supporting Local Tech and the Governor’s Agenda

Furthermore, she described the initiative as a tangible manifestation of the Lagos State Governor’s agenda focused on transportation and traffic management.

The partnership, according to her, supports local technology talent in addressing urban mobility challenges.

Dr. Amure congratulated the team for their vision, tenacity, and ingenuity, promising passengers a more informative and engaging journey while reaffirming LAMATA’s commitment to continuous innovation in public transportation.
