ENGIE Energy Access appoints Falola as Global Head of Communications

ENGIE Energy Access has appointed Funmilayo Falola to lead as its Global Head of Communications, where she will be responsible for the comprehensive planning and coordination of communication strategies of the leading Pay-As-You-Go solar and mini-grids solutions Provider Company in Africa, while providing support for the company across the region to drive brand and company growth.
Funmi is a consumer marketing expert with over 20 years of experience in applying creative marketing & commercial strategies. Having cut her teeth across various sectors, she has understood the power of collaboration with stakeholders to identify audience interest, develop go-to-market plans, and improve capacity for investment in line with business priorities.
Before her present role at ENGIE Energy Access, her passion for effective communication and natural drive for success motivates her to deliver high-quality work in her position as the Head, Marketing Communications & Investor Relations at Wema Bank Plc.
Funmilayo Falola has also shared her invaluable wealth of experience with First Bank of Nigeria Ltd as the Head, Internal Communications & Merchandising & Warehousing where she developed and implemented the year-on-year internal communications strategy in alignment with the overall marketing strategy before joining Wema Bank.
Her successful career journey kicked off at CentrespreadFCB (now CentrespreadGREY) in 2005 as a Senior Executive – Business Development between 2005 and 2006, and rising through the ranks to the position of Client Service & Strategy in 2009.
The consumer-centric marketer holds a Bachelor of Science, Political Science from the University of Lagos, UNILAG, in 2002, before crowning it up with a Master of Business Administration, MBA in Marketing from the same institution in year 2020. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma, Marketing from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
