As MARKETING EDGE’s special editions of 2023 Brands to Watch and Forces Behind the Brands gather momentum to go to press, more and more brands and agencies have continued to jump on the sizzling offering.

The annual review and projection of Nigeria’s marketing and advertising landscape by MARKETING EDGE is designed to put leading brands and agencies on the spotlight and strategically help them to stand out in the marketplace. It also encourages them to craft a sharp brand positioning that helps to underscore their values and uniqueness.

Commenting on this year’s edition, John Ajayi, Publisher/CEO of MARKETING EDGE, said the two-in-one edition is packaged to give participating brands and agencies, including the stakeholders value for money.

He noted that in the same edition, there will be an eclectic review of the integrated marketing communications agencies across various subsectors of the industry, which are nimble and muscular enough to remain forces behind the various brands in the country this year.

“The import of “Brands to Watch and Forces Behind the Brands 2023 editions is to recognise, encourage and inspire outstanding brands whose performance in 2022 was good, and who, through their projections for 2023 viz-a-viz their brand purposes, offerings, corporate governance, brand building initiatives/activities, sustainability and corporate social responsibility have charted paths to more impressive performance this year,” Mr. Ajayi revealed.

He added that the special edition will also o update consumers, investors, policymakers, the reading public and the international community on the brands that are poised to dictate the pace in their segments in the Nigerian market in 2023.The media and marketing veteran said both brands and agencies need to re-focus on being the champion of the consumer to create demand-led growth.

“Regardless of the fact that the challenges facing the national economy are still strong, and the dynamics which impact consumer purchasing power and the unstable fortunes of brand owners and their agencies are still very visible, several brands will still stay afloat, he affirmed..

Reaffirming the impact of the economic crunch on businesses, Mr. Ajayi expressed optimism that some of the agencies and brands would equally rise up to the occasion, and create brand building initiatives that would hit the bull’s eye and deliver results and returns, if possible, magically.

“The operational environment is still tough while competition lingers, but strong and creative brands will sustainably deliver on their brand promises, boost their brand equities, expand bottom-lines and deliver profits to their various stakeholders all the year round.

“We thus invite your brand to take its deserved place in the special edition by providing us an updated profile of the brand/firm. You may also contribute editorially to the subject matter of the edition. You are also required to place a corporate advert of your company or product advert(s) in the edition for maximum impact. Placement of advert will guarantee free profiling,” he noted.

He further stated some additional values that will accompany advert placement.

“The special edition would be uploaded on our online platform (www.marketingedge.com.ng) to our global audience. Some of the participating brands’ CEOs would be hosted as Guests on varying episodes of our MARKETING EDGE ON TV, and news stories would be generated from such guest appearances to be published on our online platform which will also be headlined live on all our partnering LED boards’ pan-Nigeria,” he promised.
