Listicle: TIME100 unveils World’s Most Influential People 2024

In line with its annual tradition of listing the 100 most influential people in the world every year, TIME Magazine has announced its 2024 edition, which asked cultural and political icons to highlight the changemakers of the past year. This year features dozens of athletes, entertainers, artists and politicians.
The twenty-first annual list features: Alex Rodriguez on Patrick Mahomes, Burna Boy on 21 Savage, Maren Morris on Jack Antonoff, Blake Lively on America Ferrera, Kate Hudson on Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Obama on Thelma Golden, Jon Huntsman on William Lai, Naomi Watts on Tory Burch, Tom Brady on A’ja Wilson, Mark Zuckerberg on Jensen Huang, Ryan Reynolds on Michael J. Fox, Richard Branson on Jigar Shah, Joe Biden on Shawn Fain, and more.
By making the TIME100 list 2024, Burna Boy has consolidated his global vision and acclaim after becoming the first African artist to sell out a U.S. stadium in 2023, and the first Afrobeats artist to sing at the Grammys in 2024.
Commenting on the unveiling, Jessica Sibley, TIME Chief Executive Officer, said: “The influence recognized on this year’s TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people spans industries and continents. Of the 2024 TIME100 list, Sam Jacob, TIME Editor in Chief, wrote in his letter to readers, “Influence, we know, is complex: it can be for better and for worse, it can span generations, categories, and perspectives…Now in our 101st year, TIME continues to evolve. TIME will celebrate the 2024 TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people at the TIME100 Summit on 24 April and the TIME100 Gala on 25 April in New York City.
TIME100 further underscores the fact that a media organisation does not require the permission of any agency or institute to make a listicle in any sector of the economy or industry. Its informed and sagacious editorial judgment is enough to do so.
