Stakeholders in the integrated marketing communications industry have applauded MARKETING EDGE for encouraging industry excellence and distinctions by organising and sustaining its awards for 8 unbroken years.

Now in its 8th edition, MARKETING EDGE, Nigeria’s foremost integrated marketing communications industry publication, has been setting the pace through its excellence awards to boost the reputation and cement the credibility of the industry titans as organisations and individuals.

This year’s 2-in-1 event which has the theme, “Rethinking The Blue Ocean Strategy In Uncertain Times” is slated for 26 and 27 August, 2021. While the Marketing Stakeholders Virtual Summit is scheduled for 26 August, the Awards Night will hold on 27 August respectively.

Some of the industry bigwigs who spoke with the magazine said they are anxiously waiting for this year’s Summit and Awards.

Mr. Emmanuel Ajufo, President, Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), and Chief Executive Officer of Opportunity to See, a top of the market out-of-home advertising agency in Nigeria, noted that the leading magazine has always been a pacesetter in all its dealings. His words: “MARKETING EDGE is the pacesetter; always doing new things. The marketing communications industry is the better for it.”

According to him, awards such as the one from MARKETING EDGE gives an organisation an edge over its competitors and inspires them to do more. “Awards usually give you more impetus to do more. However, the one from MARKETING EDGE is unique because it is coming from the industry within which one plies one’s trade. That award has been a driving force to continue to do more not only for Opportunity to See Limited, but for the industry.”

Similarly, Biodun Adefila, Chief Operating Officer, SO&U said: “An industry grows because there are people who care about the activities of the industry and its outputs; monitoring changes and developments, calling out how things can be better, propelling members to the future; inspiring and rewarding excellence. This is what the MARKETING EDGE Annual Marketing Stakeholders Summit and Awards is about – recognition of those who have invested themselves to ensure we continue to have an industry we’re all proud of. Thank you for your consistency and continued belief.”

Continuing in the same vein, Oti Ukubeyinje, Vice President for Product Marketing and Growth, Terragon Group, stated that “MARKETING EDGE has over the years, built a deep understanding of the marketing communications industry in Nigeria and it’s at the forefront of promoting high performing brands and marketing professionals. The MARKETING EDGE Annual Marketing Stakeholders Summit and Brands & Advertising Excellence Awards is one of the key platforms for celebrating outstanding performance in marketing communications and they’ve raised the bar year-on-year. Every year, industry leaders look forward to celebrating their colleagues and clients while also encouraging younger practitioners to put in their best work. I look forward to another outstanding outing with MARKING EDGE where we can share, gain and celebrate knowledge and creativity.
