Dr. Bada Akintunde-Johnson, Country Manager for Paramount Africa, stands as one of the most influential voices shaping the intersection of media, marketing, and entertainment across the continent.
As a member of Paramount’s executive leadership team, he plays a pivotal role in driving the vision of powerhouse brands such as MTV Base, Nickelodeon, BET, Comedy Central, Paramount Pictures, and the MTV Africa Music Awards.
Before assuming his leadership role at Paramount, Dr. Bada distinguished himself in Nigeria’s advertising industry, where he became recognised as one of the country’s finest marketing communication professionals. His creative expertise was honed through senior roles at leading agencies including TBWA, Centrespread FCB, and SO&U Saatchi. He also served as Creative Manager at HiTV Limited, Nigeria’s most ambitious indigenous Pay-TV company, where he contributed to shaping homegrown content experiences.
His career journey began at Galaxy TV, where his passion for sports storytelling made him a household name. To this day, he remains a respected sports media personality, engaging audiences through live and recorded coverage of some of the world’s most prestigious football competitions.

Beyond the corporate and broadcast space, Dr. Bada has made lasting contributions to creative empowerment and youth development. He co-founded Africa Creative Market (ACM), a flagship empowerment platform that brings together African and international creative professionals for a week-long convergence in Lagos each year. Through ACM, thousands of young creatives gain access to free training, mentorship, and networking opportunities designed to accelerate the growth of Africa’s creative economy. He is also the founder of the Peaceville Foundation, which for over a decade has nurtured secondary school talent through a music-focused initiative that identifies and develops the next generation of African voices.
Dr. Bada holds a degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan, a diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is currently pursuing an MBA at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. In 2021, an honorary doctorate recognised his immense contributions to media and marketing.
