Tinubu targets $1tn economic growth in Nigeria by 2026

President Bola Tinubu has set a target of achieving $1 trillion in economic growth for Nigeria by 2026.

He disclosed this during the ongoing Nigeria Economic Summit #NES29 in Abuja on Monday.

Tinubu expressed confidence that the country’s economic growth can reach $3 trillion by the end of the decade in 2030.

In the remark on his vision for the economy, the President said, “Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, a $1 trillion economy is achievable by the year 2026, and a $3 trillion economy is possible within this decade. We have the capacity to make it happen.

“We have already achieved double-digit inclusive and sustainable competitive growth. This is our agenda, and I urge all the captains of industry present here to commit yourselves and double your efforts toward our vision of renewed hope.”

The president also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to resolving the ongoing foreign exchange crisis.
