Jens Thiemer, Group’s senior vice president customer and brand at BMW has announced through a LinkedIn post that he is leaving the company.

According to his post, he noted that the reason for leaving the company is from an inner conviction to initiate other professional changes in his life.

The post read: “The time has come for a new chapter. My time with BMW Group has been utterly rich with collaboration and growth on so many levels. My decision to leave our great brand and this unique company follows my inner conviction to initiate another change in my professional life, to learn new things and to take on a different, broader perspective soon. I am leaving at a time when we find the BMW brand in a healthy, strong and future-proof condition”

Prior to his resignation, his role was forming an international brand and customer community into a successful team that is recognized both internally and externally across the full range of our topics.

Thiemer added that it has been a great pleasure for him working for the BMW Group and to form an international brand and customer community into a successful team that is recognized both internally and externally across the full range of its topics.

He said: “Together with one of the most engaged Customer- and Brand-Teams we have set the course for a truly customer-centric omni-channel sales and marketing machine. With great gratitude and appreciation, I would like to make special mention of my following colleagues and their respective teams: Florian Resinger and Susanne Giuliani with their brilliant flair for brand strategy and agency models around our highly appreciated partners THE MARCOM ENGINE and THE GAME.”

“Marc Lengning as a true expert for customer interaction and omni-channel sales-journeys, Stefan Ponikva with his never-ending creativity and implementation power, Sergio Solero with amazing valuable experience and creative power for retail, dealer network development and great passion for our new sales model, Kirsty Skinner-Gerth as one of the architects of our MyBMW app, web-appearance and above all leader in digital sales of vehicles and services, and of course Thomas Giuliani as the visionary of the new BMW Alpina brand.”

Appreciating his team better he said: “And, of course, special thanks for an always trustful cooperation and great support go to my staff with Sotiria Hondros and Simone Geiger as well as to the whole team at the remarkable BMW Thought Leadership Retreat. Thank you for your trust, dedication, motivation, creativity, criticism, humor and our outstanding team spirit. It has been an honor to work with you for almost 5years.

For all of you, I wish you much success for the road ahead and exactly the same consistency, positive tenacity and resilience that is needed every day for the future of our industry. I wish my successor Bernd Koerber all the best and always much success. It will be a pleasure continuing to sincerely follow the BMW path from the outside with great curiosity and inner conviction,” he added.

“A special note to Pieter Nota – your guidance and trust have been instrumental. In our combined efforts with corporate communications and design, we have achieved remarkable cohesion. Most importantly, to our global CUSTOMERS and FANS – your passion, critiques, and insights have been our guiding light. You have been the heartbeat of our journey. Thank you for this connection,” he concluded in his post.
