Teni rocks as Spotify bestows her with EQUAL Africa Artiste for August

Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, is presently enjoying the en masse encomiums being showered on her  across various social media platforms over her new recognition by popular streaming app, Spotify, which honoured her as its ‘EQUAL Africa’ Artist for the month of August. This recognition intensifies Teni’s brand across the Spotify platform.

Teni, whose stardom has placed as an A-list artiste in the global musical scene, was bestowed with the special honour for her exceptional and rare music prowess and talent. The super-excited singer reaffirmed her resolve to leverage her new positioning to advocate for increased opportunities for women to thrive. She acknowledged the challenges but expressed gratitude for initiatives like EQUAL Africa, which spotlights and supports female talents.

“We can make more progress. I would keep using my platform to push and make space for opportunities like these to help more female talents to thrive,” Teni said.

Speaking of the remarkable recognition, Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s head of music for Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized that Teni’s exceptional musical talent and rising popularity have positioned her as one of the most sought-after names in African music.

Okumu expressed delight in having Teni as the EQUAL Africa programme ambassador for August, stating that her music, commitment to craft and increasing fan following truly highlight her as a source of inspiration in the African music space.
