SMC set to run Executive Programme in Advertising

The School of Media and Communication (SMC) has concluded plans to hold the 2024 edition of Executive Programme in Advertising, tagged EXPAD-6.
According to the event flyer released by the management, EXPAD-6, which was initially scheduled for November 13th, 2023, is expected to commence on March 18 and run till July 12, 2024.
The programme, which is designed to offer a blended certificate course, accredited by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, is expected to witness the participation of Advertising Executives, Corporate Communication managers, Public Relations managers, Media and Communication Outfits, business owners and those who are ready to deepen their understanding of the advertising industry.
A practice-centered master class, EXPAD-6 is primarily meant to transfer skills and expertise in one of the most prominent Media and Communication specialties. At the end of the training, graduate will be awarded “Advanced Leadership Certificate in Advertising” in addition to being accredited by ARCON and also admitted into the alumni association of Pan Atlantic University.
The training will be co-facilitated by Troyka Holdings/Insight Redefini Executives who will bring about practical perspectives to the curriculum and unveil new approach to product management and marketing communication. It will be a blended format of two virtual engagement of two months and physical session that will run for three months.
EXPAD, which has been running consistently for seven years, is said to have produced over 100 graduates while about 25 to 30 participants are expected to key into this year’s edition.
“EXPAD is created by SMC with the central objectives to: introduce in the African Advertising industry a standing top-cadre manpower development bouquet that ranks among the best in the world; to stimulate in African Advertising leadership a new orientation towards unending self and organization improvement in strategy, creativity, management and best practice compliance; to activate attention towards the application of Africa-centered Advertising philosophy, regulation, creative idiom and cultural values; and to emphasize the importance of digital immersion, scientific research and valid metrics as inevitable components of contemporary Advertising,” SMC management revealed.
The course is to further advance the critical role of the media and entertainment industries in shaping societal values and cultural life.  The School of Media and Communication has continued to contribute immensely to the creative sector of the Nigerian economy.
