Nigeria may move up the rankings at 2018 Loeries Awards

The Chief Executive Officer, Loeries Awards, Mr. Andrew Human, has said, Nigerian advertising agencies can effectively move up the rankings and win various categories of awards amongst the top 20 agencies in the 2018 Loeries Awards.

Human who made the disclosure today at the enlightenment conference at the Radissson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos said the country was currently rated at 18th position. He told participants that the conference was organized to educate agency leaders on how to submit winning entries that would help the country attain a better rating.

According to the Loeriesboss, “We are here to raise awareness and to help Nigerian agencies better prepare for the 2018 Loeries Awards; so that they can move up the rankings amongst the top 20 agencies in the region”

Last year, 7Interactive Advertising Agency was only the Nigerian agency that won a bronze at the Loeries Festival of Creativity in the African region.

Human stressed that with more participation from other Nigerian agencies, there was room for the country to have a brighter chance of coming tops at the 2018 LoeriesAwards.

He emphasized that the awards is growing tremendously year-on-year, stressing that there are entries from close to 20 countries across the region.

In his words,” We have entries from close to 20 countries at the moment. Our growth year-on- year from 2016 to 2017 was 100 percent, so I think that we have had very good reception and growth from across the region.”

On his part, the Executive Creative Director of Noah’s Ark advertising agency Mr. Bolaji Alausa, encouraged Nigerian agencies to improve on the quality of their entries.

Alausa noted that most works or entries without proper presentation to the judges were often thrown away.

In his words: As Nigerian agencies, we should try in the quality of our entry. Most Nigerian works were not well presented at the last year’s Loeries Awards and it affected the way the judges saw the works”
