Lampe succeeds Odugbemi as Orange Academy provost

Orange Academy, the first Brand School in Africa, has appointed Lampe Omoyele Managing Director/ CEO of Nitro 121 to succeed Femi Odugemi, a filmmaker and storyteller as the new provost of the institution. The appointment will take effect in July 2023.
In an interview with MARKETING EDGE, Lampe emphasized that the appointment does not affect his current position as the MD of Nitro 121.
Lampe Omoyele is a widely respected business leader and mentor in sub-Saharan Africa’s marketing and advertising industry, with over 30 years of experience working with leading multinational companies and indigenous companies with global aspirations.
He is currently Managing Director at Nitro 121, one of West Africa’s leading marketing communication companies, and a Founding Partner, at the Lucent Consulting Company, a business strategy and human capital development consultancy.
He possesses a deep understanding of marketplace dynamics across industry sectors such as Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), retail, and telecommunication in Africa, with strong commercial acumen and execution capability in commercial and general management roles and a proven leadership track record of delivering business results in challenging and internationally diverse markets.
He has previously been Managing Director at Nielsen West Africa; Africa Marketing Director (Family Nutrition), at GSK Consumer Healthcare; Marketing Director at Nutricima, a PZ Cussons company; Marketing Director, at Airtel Nigeria; and Cadbury East and Central Africa.
Lampe holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biochemistry and is an Alumnus of the Lagos Business School. He is a Fellow, of the National Institute of Marketing in Nigeria (NIMN); Past Trustee of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN); Associate member, of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON); and a member of the Advisory Council for Advertising Week Africa.
He is a recipient of several awards including the Marketing Society of Kenya’s Warrior Award for significant contribution to the development of marketing in Kenya in 2008; Chartered Marketer (UK) status in 2009; and NIMN’s Achievers award (2011).
In 2018, Brand Campaign magazine listed him among the ‘50 most influential marketing communication practitioners in Nigeria’, and ‘100 most influential global marketing leaders’ by the World Marketing Congress.
Lampe serves on the board of several companies and not-for-profit organizations and is an adjunct faculty member of the Orange Academy and Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria where he teaches marketing strategy. He is also a council member of the Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), a leading global expert network that provides independent consulting services to business professionals worldwide.
His specialties are Commercial (Sales and Marketing) strategy and execution, Brand-building, Turn-around situations, Coaching, and public speaking.
