FG in the lurch as IPMAN suspends fuel sale forthwith
The independent marketers association of Nigeria, IPMAN has in a turnaround move asked its members to stop the sale of fuel in all their filling stations nationwide.
This directive, which is a direct opposite of the assurances given last week, was given via a letter signed by the Association’s Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Kuluwu, and dated February 6.
The Letter states; “Following the critical situation as it affects the sourcing and selling of products at lost (sic) and the action of the authority to impose the selling of product at lost price on our side, you are hereby directed to suspend selling at all filling stations and also suspend payment of ordering products from source until further notice.”
It should be recalled that late last week, IPMAN had assured Nigerians that the fuel situation will be normalized within two weeks (next week) claiming that all stakeholders, IPMAN inclusive have met in Abuja to arrive at the decision.
The suspension of services by IPMAN will further worsen the fuel crisis and increase the hardship faced by Nigerians in carrying out their daily activities.
