Food West Africa: Brands Excite Customers with Innovative Products and Services

Brands at the Food West Africa, the largest and most prestigious B2B food and drink exhibition and conference, held in Lagos recently thrilled customers with showcasing of innovative products and services.

The three days event organised by Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, drew the attention of large turn-out of consumers and business participants from Nigeria, Africa, Middle East, Europe and the rest of the world. The participants applauded the yearly showcase for helping boost the growth of the African food and beverage industry.

Jamie Hill, director of West Africa Food/ Food West Africa exhibition, disclosed that the future of food and beverage industry in Nigeria, the host country, looks bright and the sub-sector will continue to grow.

In addition, Ryan Sanderson, Exhibition Director, Food West Africa, said: “The event highlights the importance of Nigeria as the hub of a burgeoning West African retail market. Nigeria is expected to witness sustained growth in value sales where the growing middle class is estimated to have a combined purchasing power in excess of N8.5 trillion.”

More than 150 businesses attended the event from across the world, up from 140 last year. The exhibition hosted about 20 international country pavilions providing excellent opportunities for businesses to meet, network and establish ties in Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria.

The brands at the exhibition included Funtuna Eggs, Funtuna Water, from the stable of Funtuna Food and Bottling Company, Bullet Energy Drink, Laser, English Breeze, Gluco-Max Energy, Pure Heaven, Royalty, Golden Country, Comfi and Sumo from Sun Mark Limited.

Others were Stellent, Melvyn Nickson Nig. Limited, makers of wash room products and aluminum turbo air ventilator, Cae brands, janitorial  services provider, interior and wood furniture, Smylie Limited, exporter of British food products; Alsafi, Makani, Food Care Group, Nasco, Associate Company, Radha Exports PTE, Kontakt and Golden Pride Ltd.

Food West Africa provided the platform for international food and beverage companies to gain entry into the lucrative market, and for domestic companies to grow and develop their networks across the region.
