Ecobank Capital Organises Talks on Economic Challenges

Industry experts who met in Lagos to discuss the Nigerian economy and how to overcome the current challenges have stressed the need for the diversification of the economy.

According to a statement from Ecobank Capital, the investment banking subsidiary of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated Plc, the experts made the call in Lagos at a conference organised by the investment banker.

At the event, which had the theme, ‘Nigerian Economy – Navigating the headwinds of oil prices’, the Group Executive Officer, Corporate and Investment Banking, Mr. Charles Kie, highlighted the strengths of the economy despite the headwinds.

Experts from Ecobank Research stressed the need for the Nigerian economy to be diversified while praising the agriculture transformation agenda, pointing out that there is the need for Nigeria to continue its value capture in key soft commodities value chain.

The Managing Director, Ecobank Capital, Moyo Kamgaing announced that the investment bank recently closed a $1.5bn deal for Societe Nationale Des Petroles Du Congo for the company’s five-year capital expenditure programme and noted that Ecobank Capital was committed to providing innovative solutions for its clients.
