Ad Age introduces 2023 Marketers of The Year

By Ralph Tathagata

Ad Age, a global media brand focusing on curated creativity, data, analysis, people, culture, innovation and forecasting, has introduced its 2023 Marketers of The Year.

According to the iconic publication, “as 2023 comes to an end, it’s time to look back at the best marketing of the year, not just the campaigns that gained buzz, but work that drove revenue and set up companies for future success.”

“These are the accomplishments recognized by the Ad Age’s annual Marketers of the Year list, which this year features three companies, one sports league and one person that exemplified excellence, both in marketing and, more importantly, in business strategies.

“We also highlight four marketers that have put themselves in the position to have a breakout 2024,” Ad Age added.

Also, in a podcast, Ad Age’s E.J. Schultz and Adrianne Pasquarelli, while discussing Ad Age’s annual ranking of the brands that excelled during the year, mentioned that this year’s list includes a couple of companies that achieved what so many brands are after these days.

“They broke into culture, while establishing platforms that can be used to pump out hit after hit. We also highlight one challenger brand that outmaneuvered the giants it competes with, even as it began embracing traditional advertising for the first time. And we recognize a celebrity whose business acumen—and ability to give fans what they want—is the envy of consumer brands.

“Even as economic anxiety persisted, for brands, 2023 was a year to go big. At least that is the lesson offered by Ad Age’s 2023 Marketers of the Year.

“The list of our 2023 Marketers of The Year is topped by Mattel, which showed that when it came to the “Barbie” movie, there can’t be enough marketing, as countless creative brand collabs gained massive attention and established a playbook the company can use going forward,” they said.

Other brands that made the Ad Age 2023 Marketer of The Year list include Taylor Swift, Nintendo, MLS and Olipop.
