Bi-Courtney to introduce new parking tariff by June

The management of Bi-Courtney Aviation Service Limited (BASL), operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA2) will introduce a new parking tariff by June 1, 2017.

The management of BASL said that the new tariff will see car owners paying N400 per hour instead of the previous charge of N300 which is an increase of N100.

It was however learnt that car owners after paying N400 initially continues to pay N100 per hour for additional hours pending when they decide to get their cars out of the park.

An official of BASL who who confirmed the development said that the decision to minimally increase the parking tariff was informed by high cost of operations and taxes paid to authorities.

He said, “You know everything is on the increase now and our own is a multi-functional car park and the cost of maintaining it is very high. Really N100 is nothing compared to the standard of this place and this is the first time we would be increasing this car park.

“Don’t forget again that we maintain it with electricity. It is completely automated. For us to break even, we need to minimally jerk up the price without discomforting our loyal clients”.
