CreativeBloc Carnival, the highly anticipated annual event that ignites the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos, with over five thousand millennials and Gen Z in attendance, has held its second edition on the 5th of October.
The year’s edition was a well-attended, maze-like event where different advertisers showcased their brands and related with consumers even as MARKETING EDGE Publications amplified the media coverage.
The carnival is a brainchild of advertising creatives, which represents a bold step beyond the traditional confines of the creative industry.
Speaking with MARKETING EDGE on the successful event, Williams Joan, Partner, CreativeBloc Carnival, said: “What inspired this event was the realization that most festivals focus primarily on music. As creatives, we sought to differentiate ourselves and create a unique experience.
“We conceived a carnival that brings together diverse creative elements within a single, immersive maze. Each section of the maze offers a distinct experience, fostering personalized interactions between brands and consumers.”
He explained that the objective was to provide a platform for relaxation and enjoyment.
Comparing this year’s event to the maiden edition, Joan said: “Last year, we exceeded our target of 2,000 attendees, welcoming over 3,000 people. This year, we set an ambitious goal of 5,000 attendees and successfully met it.
“The excitement is palpable, with numerous engaging activities such as food competitions, painting contests, raffle draws, games, music, and dance performances. We’re thrilled to have achieved our event goals and look forward to continued success.”
CreativeBloc Carnival is the brainchild of some of Nigeria’s most innovative advertising minds.
