United Capital appoints two Independent Non-Executive Directors

United Capital Plc, a leading financial services group in Africa, has appointed Mr. Dipo Fatokun and Ms. Sutura Aisha Bello as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

According to the notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), signed by company’s secretary, Leo Okafor, the appointment takes effect immediately.

“United Capital Plc is pleased to announce the appointments of Mr. Dipo Fatokun and Ms. Sutura Aisha Bello as Independent Non-Executive Directors, effective immediately, subject to obtaining requisite regulatory approvals.”

Prior to his appointment, Dipo Fatokun, who boasts of 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, was the director of banking services department at the central Bank of Nigeria and has served in different departments at the bank.

He holds a degree in accounting from the University of Ilorin and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

Sutura Aisha Bello is an expert PPP/Project Finance. In over 30 years of practice, she has handled various projects for World Bank, the Department for International Development (DFID) and OPEC.

She has a B.Sc. in Economics and Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria and Southern New Hampshire University, USA.
