Speaking with MARKETING EDGE, former General Manager of Lagos traffic Radio, Dr. Olayinka Adagun, narrated the journey of the station from 2012 to 2022.

“We started well because we use the station to manage traffic flow in Lagos. From Babatunde Raji Fashola’s administration, the reportage didn’t take news style. What we did was create a synergy between the station and LASTMA officials. Some selected LASTMA officials were trained on the act of news reporting and they did well in reporting traffic situations on Lagos roads. The station has really grown even in reportage and numbers of listeners,” he said.

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Chapter received the Outstanding Traffic Management Partner of the Decade award; Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) received the Award of Excellence for its outstanding contribution to the sustenance of Lagos Traffic Radio, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), and support of the station; MTN Nigeria received the Appreciation for Continuous Patronage award: Globacom Limited received an appreciation award; Media Reach OMD, Spectra Industries Limited, Association of Television and Radio Callers also received recognition awards, and the Former General Managers received awards of excellence while some other staff of the station received long service awards.
