Tinubu inaugurates Ani-Mumuney, others as Committee on Fiscal Policy & Tax Reform

Folake Ani-Mumuney, Global Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, First Bank of Nigeria Plc., has been inaugurated to serve on the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy & Tax Reform.  The Committee, which is chaired by the former Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Taiwo Oyedele, was inaugurated at the State House, Abuja.

Announcing this on WIMBIZ LinkedIn platform, Ani-Mumuney was inaugurated to serve on the Presidential Committee alongside other two members of WIMBIZ, Hansatu Adegbite, the Executive Director of WIMBIZ and Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, the former FIRS Chairman of the Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS).

Ani-Mumuney’s new recognition also received presidential commendation for being selected to serve for her pedigree, experience, professional capacity and integrity. In her new assignment, she will be  tasked  to develop an immediate, short & long-term plan around finding solutions to the multiplicity of revenue collection, reduction of the economic burden on citizens and, in the long run, increase tax to GDP ratio.

She is a strategic thinker, and with her thought leadership and proven track-records, will hold true to her role as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has tasked the committee to deliver on a mandate covering three main focus areas which include improved fiscal governance, tax reform in Nigeria and growth facilitation of the economy.

Ani-Mumuney who is super excited for this new innings looks forward to leveraging her expertise in amplifying the voice for a more proactive tax reforms in Nigeria. She brings with her several decades of robust right blend of experience and thought leadership, which will be instrumental in delivering on the mandate of the committee.

With an illustrious career that spanned more than two decades, she has held leadership roles within marketing with leading companies and  across sectors such as banking, aviation, manufacturing, oil & gas, amongst others, Folake has held varied roles, leading strategy and business planning, business analysis, process re-engineering, innovation, marketing and communications.

As a business transformation leader, with deep understanding of both local and international brands, her career journey has impacted the immense growth of several regions across Europe & Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and the United Kingdom.

Ani-Mumuney is currently the General Manager of First Bank, and also the former Chairman of FBN Insurance Brokers.  She is also an Executive Council Member

Executive Council Member of the World Federation of Advertisers and also a member of WIMBIZ. She presently sits as the Vice Chairman of Junior Achievement Nigeria.

She holds Bachelor of Laws from the University of Buckingham, Bachelor of Arts from University of Lagos as well as an alumna of the Harvard Business School.
