SO&U restructures, appoints new brand management structure

As part of its commitment to redefine, reinvent and refocus its brand management structure aimed at creating better engagement experience for its clients, SO&U, one of the leading advertising agencies in Nigeria, has appointed new brand team led by three senior account directors, Mide Odofin, Ayeesha Ibrahim and Damilola Adeyemi.

According to the company, the new appointees alongside their teams will bring fresh touch, renewed energy, passion and focus to business leadership of the agency.

The agency, which recently celebrated its 33rd anniversary, held a Corporate Retreat in March at The Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, with the theme “Shaping SO&U for a Renewed Beginning”, where the announcement was made.

Speaking at the retreat, Udeme Ufot, Group Managing Director, said: “The future is for thinkers and demonstrable value creators with strong relationship skills. It is about 360 degree brand management driving solutions that not only work, but have capacity to transform brands and situations. Mr. Ufot added: “Our current restructuring is an ongoing process that will cut across all aspects of our operations aimed at ensuring that the agency is battle ready for the next leg of its success story. We are challenging and questioning everything we do to ensure we will be relevant to the future needs of our clients, and will in fact move ahead to await them in that future.”

Olumide Odofin is a young, vibrant and amiable professional with over 10 years’ experience in Consulting and Marketing communications. With experience across different brands and sectors i.e., FMCG, Travel/Tourism, Banking etc. She has managed, conceptualised, designed and executed major multinational brand campaigns cutting across market entry, launches, channel development, route to market etc across different online and offline touch points.

Prior to working with SO&U, Odofin has effectively serviced major multinational and local companies brands portfolios such as Mondelez, Coca-Cola (portfolio), Tolaram, ABinBev, British American Tobacco, Reckit, Olam International, FMN, Campari, Famous Grouse, American Honey, Skyy Vodka,Lindt & Sprungli, TravelStart, Keystone Bank, Ecobank, Skye Bank, NIBSS – Mcash, Bankers Committee, Nivea etc.

Ayeesha Ibrahim is an experienced Marketing Communications Professional with varied experience spanning Advertising, Brand Management, Public Relations, Digital Communications, Relationship Management in the Advertisement, Media and Corporate Communications industry.

She has actively performed in strategic projects to promote the brand and awareness of several organisations (Verve, Aspire Coronation Trust Foundation, MTN, Access Bank, Oando, Nigerian Breweries and Lagos State Government). She led the communication strategy for ACT Foundation’s team to launch its first Television Commercial on CNN highlighting its years of impact in philanthropy and digital placements of its native article on CNN’s website. Ayeesha has excellent organizational, time management, decision making and communication skills. She has an attractive personality, being naturally outgoing and confident.

On his part,  Damilola Adeyemi is a Marketing & Brand Strategist with almost a decade of experience developing, managing and executing Marketing and Brand strategies for brands across various industries: FMCG, Automobile, Telecommunications, Oil & Gas, Personal Hygiene, Banking, FinTech, Electronic Appliances, Insurance, Entertainment and Health in Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, and United Kingdom. Some of the notable organizations and brands he has worked with include Total Energies, Airtel Nigeria, BIC, Promasidor, Stallion Group, Perfetti Van Melle, Reckitt Benckiser, AXA, Rite Foods, Hayat Kimya, Unilever, NBC, May & Baker and more. Damilola worked with a marketing agency for over 5 years and contributed to a significant +88% growth in client, +136% increase in revenue and a 96% pitch win rate. He has a BSc. degree in Sociology at Redeemer’s University and MSc. Degree in International Business Management at the University of Kent.
