Olufisayo Adelekun departs LAPO MFB after two years

Olufisayo Adelekun, the Head of Digital and Social Media Unit – Communications and Branding at LAPO Microfinance Bank, has officially announced his resignation and exit from the bank.
Adelekun announced his departure in a post on his LinkedIn page. He said, “Exactly a month ago, (Oct 31 to be precise), I marked my last day at LAPO Microfinance Bank. It was a day of Mixed emotions as I reflected on the amazing relationships fostered on the last two years, while leading the Digital Communications team yet excited for the future.”
He expressed gratitude to his colleagues and clients of LAPO MFB who worked with him throughout his stay at the bank.
In his words, “My time at Sub-Saharan Africa’s premier Microfinance Bank has been one of personal and mental growth. I have definitely become a better person and learnt how to manage professional relationships better. I will definitely cherish the amazing memories we created.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked at Lapo Microfinance Bank for the past two years,” said Adelekun. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am confident that the bank will continue to be a leader in the digital and social media space.”
Adelekun joined LAPO Microfinance Bank in 2021 and was instrumental in developing and implementing the bank’s digital and social media strategy. Under his leadership, the bank’s social media presence grew significantly, and its digital channels became a key source of information and engagement for customers. Still under his leadership, the bank successfully launched several notable campaigns such as My Pikin & I Savings Promo and Xpress Save & Win Promo (Season 1).
Adelekun’s departure comes at a time of significant change for the banking industry. As more and more customers move online, banks are facing increasing pressure to provide a seamless digital experience. Adelekun is a talented and experienced leader, and he is sure to make a significant impact in the years to come. Adelekun’s expertise in Digital communications, Branding and social media will be a valuable asset to any organization in today’s digital landscape.
