NIMN election: voting commences today as candidate hopes to clinch 51% compulsory ballot

As members of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) go to the polls today to elect the next President and four Council members of the Institute, the Presidential Candidate, Mr. Idorenyen Enang is expected to garner 51% votes to be declared winner despite being the sole contender for the position.
According to the electoral guideline released by the marketing body, a candidate shall be returned unopposed, if he or she meets the compulsory vote cast of 51%, otherwise, the position shall remain vacant and fresh nominations shall be called for and a new election held.
It added that for the four (4) Council positions, “if there are only four (4) candidates at the close of the period for the submission of forms, and if they all qualify, they shall be returned unopposed. Otherwise, the nomination period for the Council positions shall be extended.”
The marketing institute recently announced that following the nomination and declaration of interest by eligible aspirants which started on May 8th, 2023, voting period is scheduled to be held electronically between 9am today and 9am on June 23, 2023.
Strategically positioned on the top list of aspirants vying for the prestigious seats in the governing council is the President, Mr. Idorenyen Enang who is a renowned and astute marketing professional who has transversed the broad spectrum of marketing and brand management, across different categories and markets.
The other aspirants vying for a seat in the governing council are Akomolafe Ayoola Obafemi, Executive Head (Sales & Marketing ), Nampak Nigeria, Adenike Olufunke Olufade, MD/CEO of Digimage Consult and Chairman, NIMN Lagos Island Chapter, Amachree Sundayba Sandra, Head of Marketing Communications at Nigerian Breweries Plc, and Hope Moninu Gbagi, Head of Sales for Intercontinental Distillers Limited.
The outcome of the election will be announced by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee at the venue of the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Fraser Suites, Plot 294, Leventis Close, Central Business District, Abuja.
