NIMN approves code for professional marketing practice

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has approved a new code guiding professional practice and conduct of marketing practitioners in the country. This was disclosed by Tony Agenmonmen, President, NIMN, in a chat with Marketing Edge.

Agenmonmen stated that the code was meant to promote the highest standard of professional conduct among its members, adding that the newly approved code would also ensure that ethical norms and values are strictly adhered to by marketing professionals.

The NIMN Act 2003 empowers the NIMN Council to make rules and regulations guiding professional conduct among marketing professionals. As required by this Act, a copy of the code has been lodged with the Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr. Niyi Adebayo. The code will formally come into force on 1 September 2020.

It would be recalled that the NIMN had proposed a draft code of Professional marketing practice during its last AGM in July this year.
