The prestigious Warc Awards for Effectiveness 2023, in association with Lions, have announced their first winners, and Nigeria has emerged as a first-time champion, securing a coveted award. Mediareach OMD, a Nigerian agency, claimed the bronze prize in the Brand Purpose category for their outstanding work on the Hypo Toilet Rescue Initiative, representing their client, Hypo Toilet Cleaner.

While the United Kingdom and the United States both secured an impressive six awards each, Canada celebrated four wins, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) clinched three. India, Saudi Arabia, and Sweden each secured two awards, and Brazil, New Zealand, and the Philippines walked away with one award each.

Now in its third year, the Warc Awards for Effectiveness have recognized a total of 13 Silver and 16 Bronze accolades in this esteemed international competition. The campaigns honoured encompass both global and local brands, spanning various product categories such as retail, fashion, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and financial products. These exceptional campaigns demonstrate the profound impact marketers are making on growth across different sectors and audiences.

The judging process involved seven distinguished panels comprising 80 highly-regarded industry experts from around the world. These panels meticulously followed a rigorous evaluation process utilizing the Creative Effectiveness and B2B Effectiveness Ladders. These unique tools provided a consistent approach and global language to benchmark the effectiveness of the campaigns.

John Bizzell, the awards lead at Warc, expressed his gratitude to the dedicated juries and extended congratulations to all the Silver and Bronze winners for their exceptional accomplishments in driving business success. The juries noted that the winning campaigns showcased remarkable ambition, profound insights, and unparalleled creativity that generated tangible results.

The WARC Effectiveness Show, part one, unveiled the Silver and Bronze winners. However, the highly anticipated announcement of the Gold and Grand Prix winners will take place during the WARC Effectiveness Show, part two. The event will be broadcast online from Cannes Lions, commencing at 09:30 CET on Monday, June 19th.

This groundbreaking recognition of Nigeria’s excellence at the Warc Awards for Effectiveness 2023 not only celebrates the country’s exceptional marketing talent but also reinforces the country’s rising prominence on the global stage. As the world eagerly awaits the unveiling of the Gold and Grand Prix winners, it is clear that the bar for marketing effectiveness has been raised to new heights.
