Meet Marketing Edge Summit/Awards Panelist
Abiodun Atunwa is the General Manager of Plus Acuity Limited, a 21st century Media Independent Agency of creative and business minds; driven by data and technology.
A seasoned and well-grounded professional with cognate experience in Media, Advertising, Marketing & Sales, Telecoms, Banking, Oil & Gas and the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors, having worked in several world-class organisations, he is known for his pragmatic approach to problem solving.
Mr. Atunwa started his career as a pioneer staff of Reliance Bank Limited as Credit and Marketing Officer. His passion for Marketing Communications led him to a career change when he joined Centrespread FCB Advertising as Senior Executive in the Client Service Department and rose to the position of Client Service Manager. While there, he and his team developed many award winning campaigns including the Skye Bank “Yes I Can” and the FCMB “My Bank and I” campaigns, just to name a few.
In pursuit of his career goals, the seasoned professional later became the Corporate Communications Officer of Oando Plc and climbed the ladder to become Marketing Communications Lead.
While at Oando Plc, Abiodun as he is fondly called, through his effective negotiation skills, saved the company over N500 million during the company’s first rights issue campaign. He also boosted Oando’s local and international prominence through increased brand presence in the media and targeted sponsorships by developing and producing their first two world class TV commercials for Oleum range of lubricants and the Corporate Brand in South Africa.
He later joined TVC Communications as Senior Marketing and Sales Manager with the role of overseeing the day-to-day running of the Commercial Department with three TV and one radio stations under his care.
A Graduate of Urban & Regional Planning from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Atunwa is a Member of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) UK.
He joined Plus Acuity Limited as General Manager in 2017. He is happily married.
