MARKETING EDGE National Marketing Stakeholders Summit: Meet the Speakers

As the 2018 MARKETING EDGE National Marketing Stakeholders Summit gets closer, there has been a lot of excitement and exhilaration from across the brands and marketing industry in Nigeria, as stakeholders look forward to another moment of great insight and introspection on burning industry issues.

The theme for this year’s summit is “Marketing Paradigms in the Age of Digitalization” and it is slated for 6 July, 2018 at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

This year, no less than seven marketing giants are on the roll-call of speakers and panelists. These are:

Yaw Nsarkoh

The Unilever CEO is one of the most accomplished corporate executives in Africa. Before his redeployment in 2014 to head Unilever’s operations in Nigeria, he served as Strategic Assistant to Unilever Executive Member and President of Unilever Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe based in the United Kingdom.

He also served at various times as Marketing Director Unilever Ghana, African Regional Brand Manager Laundry Regional Innovation Centre, Unilever South Africa, and Production Manager Unilever Ghana, etc.

He has contributed immensely to the growth of Unilever businesses in Ghana, South Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe in his over 20 years career in Unilever.

Mr. Nsarkoh holds an Honors Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Henley Management College, Henley-on-Thames, United Kingdom.

His areas of expertise and experience include, but are not limited to: Team Leadership and General Management, Marketing and Innovation, Supply Chain and Project Management and Execution, External Networking, Stakeholders’ Management, etc.

Emeka Okeke

Emeka Chris Okeke is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Media Fuse Dentsu Aegis Network Nigeria and Director of Dentsu Aegis Network Ghana. He is also responsible for the development of Dentsu Aegis Network’s global and local service brands in Nigeria. He has within a very short period of time led the network to successful pitching and transitioning of notable clients.

With over twenty-five years experience spanning the Print Media, full service creative and media agencies notably in Nigeria and Ghana, Emeka as he is simply called, launched Ghana’s first Media Independent Agency Network – Premier MediaCompany Ghana in 1999 (now Vizeum Ghana, a division of Dentsu Aegis Network Ghana) to lay the foundation for the development of professional media planning and communications practice in that part of Africa.

A Fellow of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and a member of different industry professional bodies, Emeka plays leadership roles in Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria, MIPAN where he is an ex-officio member of the body’s executive committee and currently the Chairman of the Association’s Ad hoc Committee responsible for engaging key stakeholders to ensure delivery of robust planning data on paid satellite television platforms in Nigeria to rationalize advertisers investment in key pay television channels operating in Nigeria.

Mrs. Folake Ani-Mumuney

Mrs. Folake Ani-Mumuney is a seasoned Marketer and Communicator. She serves as Global Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications at FBN Holdings. Before joining First Bank, she worked at Dangote Industries Limited as Chief Marketing and Communication Officer.

Earlier in her career, she was at British Airways Plc, where she was responsible for Brands Policies and communications across Europe and Africa regions, made up of 59 countries. She covered many regions in her time with British Airways and she held positions such as Business Analyst, Strategy & Business Planning Manager, New Business Development Manager and Head Marketing & Communications Manager, Africa.

Ani-Mumuney has several management certificates to her credit and she is a member of many professional associations. She also has degrees in Philosophy and Law and a diploma in Business Computing Systems Analysis and Design.

She is a versatile professional much sought after by A-rated multinationals because of her intellectual prowess and entrepreneurial sagacity. She brings to the summit, her rich and diverse perspectives on marketing, especially from the finance point of view.

Steve Babako

Steve Babako, X3M Ideas’ Chief Executive Officer/Chief Creative Officer, brings to the agency his significant experience in building brands across industries. Steve’s passion for creativity matches his love for challenges. He is a writer, consumer behaviour analyst, brand development expert and motivational speaker. Steve nurtures youths to be self-reliant that is why individuals and groups always invite him to speak to young Nigerians at many seminars and workshops.

He started his advertising career at MC&A Saatchi & Saatchi in 1995, before he later joined Prima Garnet Ogilvy and 141 Worldwide where he worked till early 2012, bringing his experience in the industry to a cumulative 22 years. In 2012, he took the bold step and left 141 worldwide to start his own advertising agency, X3M Ideas Limited.

Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is a Full member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON). Steve is currently the Chairman for Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) LAIF Board, and also the current Chairman, Public Relations Committee of the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce.

Adenike Adebola

Mrs. Adenike Adebola is the Marketing and Innovation Director at Guinness Nigeria. She has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Manchester Business School. Her career in Marketing started in United Africa Company (UAC) as Restaurant Manager in 1995. She left UAC in 2005 as Marketing Manager to take up the position of Senior Brand Manager, Guinness Extra Smooth.

She held various marketing positions including: Marketing Manager, Malta Guinness, Marketing Manager Guinness, and Head of Customer Marketing before proceeding to join the global team based in London between 2012 and 2015. Adenike joined the Guinness Global Brand Team as Global Content Creation Manager – Guinness while also doubling as Global Brand Lead – Malta Guinness.

She rejoined Guinness Nigeria in July 2015 as Head of Marketing, Spirits & RTD. She has led the embedding of the company’s total spirits strategy from Reserve through International Premium Spirits (IPS) to Mainstream Spirits consolidating its position as a total beverage alcohol business. Adenike was appointed Marketing and Innovation Director in July 2017

Feyi Olubodun

Mr. Feyi Olubodun, is currently the Managing Director/CEO at Insight Publicis. He assumed the position after a successful 2-year stint as General Manager. Prior to his appointment as General Manager in January 2015, he successfully managed the Strategic planning department for over four years. Feyi is a marketing and strategy professional, a global executive MBA holder with extensive experience in data analysis, consumer insight management, account planning and strategy management.

He is a widely travelled professional and scholar; a graduate of Psychology, an alumnus of the pan-Atlantic University and the prestigious Duke University –The Fuqua School of Business. Feyi helps develop the capabilities, both in clients’ organisations and within Insight Communications (now Insight Redefini).

He is passionate about the growth and success of the organisation and believes the greatness it aspires for can be achieved with great discipline. As he fondly communicates, “there is no Greatness without Discipline”. He has proven results in pioneering new arenas in organisations, particularly in the areas of corporate strategy, strategic consulting, general management and organisational development, and making impact on P&L.

Adebola Williams

Mr. Adebola Williams is a TV producer, an actor, a journalist and a youth development expert. Recently named by the UN as one of 100 Most Influential People of African Descent and profiled by Forbes as the man who helped three Presidents win elections consecutively in Africa, Adebola Williams is Co-Founder of RED, which is home to several well-known brands including The Future Awards Africa,YNaija.com, amongst others. .

He was named CNBC Young Business Leader of the Year, Forbes 30 Under 30, and BusinessDay 40 Under 40. In 2017, he was named “Evangelist of The Future” at the businessC4F Davos Award.

An alumnus of the London School of Journalism and the Pan African University, Adebola is a member of the African Leadership Network, a British Council Global Changemaker and sits on the boards of Slum to School Africa and Chairs the board of Young Entrepreneurs Network.

A President Obama Mandela Washington fellow, Adebola’s unique profile recently earned him a never been done deal as the first entrepreneur ambassador for leading telecoms Line in Africa, Globacom.
