Lafarge Africa appoints Viola as Director of communication

Lafarge Africa, a prominent player in the building material industry, has appointed Viola Graham-Douglas as director of communication, public affairs, sustainable development.

This was disclosed on both Lafarge Africa and Viola’s LinkedIn pages.

Commenting on the appointment, the Lafarge Africa expressed excitement about welcoming Viola back to the company. It said: “We are excited to share that Viola Graham-Douglas has joined Lafarge Africa as the Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainable Development Director.

“Viola Joins us from Guinness Nigeria Plc where she was the IPS (International Premium Spirits), Reserve & Modern Trade Director.

“She had a varied career with lafarge (WAPCO Operations, France Group and lafarge Africa), with her last role being Communications Director.

“Welcome on board, Viola! We are glad to have you back.”

Viola on her part said: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Communications Public Affairs & Sustainable Development Director at Lafarge Africa Plc!”

She further stated: “This is coming after an 8yrs hiatus during which I moved to the fast paced beverage sector and gained new skills and experiences in a senior commercial role, working with the most premium brands and an amazing “soft life and premium” yet super hardworking team.

“It’s great to be back to lafarge, the company in which i grew up, to see familiar faces and impact made and foundations laid that have blossomed. With new and impacful initiatives Lafarge is truly an innovative and building solutions driven company.”

“The circle came back again and I’m looking forward to an amazing ride to a sustainable future,” she added

Before her new appointment, Viola served as Director IPS, Reserve and Modern Trade at Guinness Nigeria Plc, where she was responsible for the sale of Imported Premium Spirits, Reserve (High-end) products and D-commerce strategy.

She started her career at Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria as Treasurer and steadily climbed the corporate ladder to the position of Country Communications Director before resuming a new role at Guinness Nigeria Plc as Corporate Relations Director.
