FG appoints two new directors for AIB

The federal government has approved the appointment of two new directors for Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB).

The new directors are Engr. Hashimu Ilyasu Wali for Engineering and Capt. Dayyabu Mustapha Danraka for Operations.

A statement by the head public affairs of AIB, Tunji Oketunbi said the appointments are with immediate effect.

Before their appointments, Capt. Danraka was the Bureau’s general manager operations, while Engr. Wali was an Aviation Safety Inspector with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.

Oketunbi said the appointments follow the expiration of the tenures of former director of Engineering, Engr. Emmanuel Diala and director of Operations Capt. Yusuf Lawal.

The Commissioner/CEO of AIB, Engr. Akin Olateru thanked the former directors for their invaluable services to the Bureau and wished them success in their future endeavours.

AIB is under the Ministry of Aviation and is responsible for the investigation of civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents within Nigeria.

The Fundamental Objective of AIB is to improve aviation safety by determining the circumstances and causes of air accidents and serious incidents and making safety recommendations intended to prevent recurrence of similar accidents in future.
