Against the backdrop of violence that greeted the #EndSARS protests across the country, Seven-Up Bottling Company (SBC), a leading player in the carbonated soft Drink(CSD) market in Nigeria, has partnered with Life Bank, a blood donation and transfusion advocacy initiative, to bolster blood donation for victims of the protests.

Recall that many lives were lost and several people injured during the recent #EndSARS protests.

The new initiative, according to SBC comes at “these times of tension and violence across our communities”.

The programme titled “Spirit of Naija” Blood donation Programme will be supported by SBC with the Sum of Thirty Million Naira(N30 million).

Speaking on the motive behind the new CSR initiative on its Linkedin Page, SBC said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that has been affected by the events of the past few weeks. SBC stands with every Nigerian, especially those needing life-saving medical support or whose businesses were destroyed during the violence.”

As a mark of its commitment to the new initiative, employees of the leading soft drink manufacturer are also to donate blood across the country.

“A number of our employees across the country will also join as donors to contribute to shoring up the National bank and Distribution System.

With the new initiative, SBC has taken its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) to another level having made similar gestures at the peak of the Covid-19 global pandemic outbreak in Nigeria.
