Ecobank launches rapid transfer app to excite customers
Ecobank Nigeria Limited has launched a rapid transfer app that allows zero fees for all transfers done by its customers in the Diaspora into Nigeria.
The bank’s Managing Director, Mr. Patrick Akinwuntan, who announced this in Lagos said Ecobank was poised to ensure Nigerians in the Diaspora get the best in class remittance service.
Akinwuntan stated that the aim is to make it easy for Nigerians living abroad to send money to their loved ones at home instantly.
He further claimed that transfers on the Rapidtransfer app are at zero fees from now till 31st, January, 2019.
Akinwuntan reaffirmed that the rapid transfer app was designed to enhance remittances to Africa by reducing cost and also reduce and stop the problem faced by Africans abroad while trying to send money to their home countries.
The Ecobank Rapidtransfer app follows the tradition of leadership in digital banking in Africa.
The bank chief added that “many Nigerians work abroad and financially support their relative back home”. The app will secure low-cost remittance solution as it is safe and will as well put more money into the hands of recipients as there are no charges for transactions.
He, however, urged Nigerians to tell their relatives to take advantage of the new innovative means.
The app possesses interesting features such as easy navigation, multi-lingual capabilities; the app is available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese languages thereby enabling users to choose how and when funds will be delivered to their beneficiary with transparent foreign exchange rates. It also enables individuals to easily and instantly send money to any bank in Nigeria. The service is open to Ecobank and non-Ecobank customers.
