Charles Udoh, Former Wema Bank Head of Brands appointed Commissioner in Akwa Ibom

Former Wema Bank Head Brand & Marketing Communications, Mr. Charles Udoh has been appointed as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Akwa Ibom State by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Mr Udoh was named into Governor Udom’s cabinet after a recent shake-up that saw the former cabinet sacked and replaced by fresh hands. According to the Governor, the change became necessary to energise the administration and make it more effective and result oriented.

Mr. Udoh who has over 20 years of diversified experience in digital and offline brand management, communication, media and Public Relations has been hailed as a round peg in a round hole, and he is expected to bring his rich vein of experience in the corporate sector into making the Akwa Ibom state government more contemporary in terms of information management and dissemination.

A brands and marketing expert, Udoh was a part of the First Bank team in 2003 that drove the bank’s highly successful brand transformation program. He later joined Guaranty Trust Bank in 2006 as Group Brand Manager and Head, Corporate Communications.

Udoh has worked in other highly reputable firms like KPMG, and Diamond bank where he was Group Head, Corporate Communications. He also worked in as Chief Officer and COO at Adam & Agnes Limited, a brand and marketing communications company where he worked for notable brands like ExxonMobil, FCMB, AXA Mansard, LAMATA, AFREN, CNBC Africa amongst others.

He brings to bear a conceptualized and orchestrated background with 100 major local and international advertising, brand, marketing communication and public relations campaigns (digital and offline).
