African PR leader Rugambe inspires at East African PR Week in Uganda

The African Public Relations Association’s Secretary-General, Henry Rugambe, delivered a stirring and insightful speech at the East African PR Week (EAPRW) in Jinja, Uganda.

The event’s theme, “Advancing PR Excellence as a Key Driver for East African Unity,” resonated with his address, where he commended the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) for creating a platform that promotes collaboration among PR professionals, thus contributing to the region’s development and cohesion.

Mr. Rugambe’s speech was met with enthusiasm as he emphasized the pivotal role that public relations plays in fostering unity and progress across East Africa. He expressed his gratitude on behalf of the African Public Relations Association (APRA) for the efforts put forth by PRAU in bringing PR practitioners together for mutual growth and shared learning.

An exciting highlight of Mr. Rugambe’s address was the announcement of the APRA 2024 conference, scheduled to take place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The conference, themed “One Africa’s Communication Divide,” signifies APRA’s unwavering commitment to unifying diverse voices and raising the standards of public relations across linguistic and cultural divides, particularly in the context of the francophone community.

The APRA Coordinator, Ms. Veronica Abuede, also received accolades for her remarkable contributions to the success of the dynamic gathering. Her dedication and hard work were acknowledged as essential in making EAPRW a significant step toward realizing the objectives of APRA in fostering unity and excellence in the field of public relations.

The East African PR Week continues to catalyze collaboration, knowledge exchange, and unity in the field of PR across the region. Mr. Rugambe’s speech and the upcoming APRA 2024 conference in Abidjan promise to further strengthen the ties that bind PR professionals in their pursuit of excellence and unity across the African continent.
