Access Bank appoints Agbede as ED, Access Corporation

Access Bank Plc has appointed Bolaji Agbede as Executive Director of its financial services holding company, Access Corporation.

The appointment was announced on the company’s social media platform and it read: “Welcome Bolaji Agbede as Executive Director, Access Corporation. With over 27 years’ experience in Human Resource management and banking operations, she is set to lead Access Corporation into a globally connected community; inspired by Africa, for the world.”

Agbede, before her new position, served as Group Head of Human Resources for Access Bank, having joined the bank in 2003 from GT Bank as an Assistant General Manager. As the bank’s HR Chief, she’s played a pivotal role in shaping and developing much of the strategies that has transformed the Bank’s valuable human capital. Agbede is a strong proponent of equality and equity, instituting various benefits for staffers, including paternity leave, six months’ maternity leave, the Bank’s Crèche and Access Women Network, and many others.

She is an accomplished financial expert with more than 20 years experience in the financial sector. Agbede has received numerous recognitions for successfully and effectively implementing key initiatives influential to the achievement of the bank’s goals and objectives.

With her strong track record and unique experience in the financial sector, the financial icon and veteran, has established herself as an expert in mergers and acquisitions, after she played key roles in successfully integrating staffers of the banks following three of the most successful mergers and acquisitions in the Nigerian financial sector in the past two decades.

Her revolutionary journey began in 2005, when she led the successful integration of employees of Marina International Bank and Capital Bank. And in 2012, she was pivotal in Access Bank’s acquisition of Intercontinental Bank Plc, and again was responsible for the integration of staffers following the successful 2019 merger between Access Bank Plc and Diamond Bank Plc.
