Wavemaker appoints Sam Bird as managing director

Wavemaker UK, the media buying and planning agency, has appointed Sam Bird to the role of managing director, content and brand experience. He will lead the development of the agency’s content creative capabilities.
The new managing director will report to Ian Stevens, chief investment officer.
Bird joins from OMD, where he held multiple senior level positions over the last decade, leading on services for blue-chip brands like Levi’s Burberry and Pepsico.
In addition to his agency background, he also brings experience from the client and publisher side to his role at Wavemaker, having worked with Lowcost Travel Group and Stylist Group.
At Stylist Group he led and managed large, multifaceted departments spanning from project management and strategists to creatives and designers, while helping to grow creative solutions revenue for the Stylist brand.
Ian Stevens, chief investment officer, Wavemaker UK, speaking on Bird’s appointment said; “It’s an exciting time to bring Sam on board as we start 2024.
