Transcorp Hotels appoints Dupe Olusola as MD/CEO

The management of Transcorp Hotels has appointed Dupe Olusola as the new Managing Director/CEO of the organisation.

Olusola, until her appointment was the former Group Head, Marketing at the UBA Group, and would bring her rich career experience to bare in her new position.

Her appointment which takes effect from 25th March, 2020 was disclosed via a linked post made public by Lande Abudu, Group Head, Branch Operations and Services at First Bank of Nigeria Limited.

In the said post, Lande Abudu wrote: “I am really proud and delighted to announce the appointment of my dearest friend Dupe Olusola as the MD/CEO of Transcorp Hotels effective March 25, 2020. This appointment is important in many respects. Dupe is one of the most hardworking, committed, resourceful and intelligent persons I know. She doesn’t see impediments but opportunities, and this is what often stands her out.

“She attracts faith and loyalty because she is faithful and loyal too. Her rise has been an inspiration to many and I have seen her help many others rise, too. She is a fixer. She is a doer and a performer. She successfully manages her home, family and career. She lifts other women up. She believes that there is enough space for everyone to grow. Today, I salute her for all that she is.”

Dupe Olusola served as Group Head, Marketing at United Bank for Africa, one of Africa’s leading financial services provider. At UBA Group, she was responsible for the development and delivery of the integrated strategy for all UBA Group Bank and non-bank subsidiaries.

Prior to her current role, she was the Group Head Embassies, Multilaterals and Development Organisations (EMDOs) and Global Investors Services (GIS) at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc. Through her leadership, there was a meritorious expansion in the Bank’s stake in the EMDOs & GIS sector across Africa and beyond.

She has a deep knowledge of several corporate and retail market economies. Before joining UBA, Dupe had a distinguished career as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Teragro Commodities Limited (an indigenous agricultural company).

She spearheaded a partnership with Coca-Cola to produce Five Alive Pulpy Orange Juice – making Teragro the sole local material source for the juice in Nigeria. Her professional experience spans various sectors locally and internationally in capacities that encompass private equity from African Capital Alliance, investments and SME experience from Growing Business Foundation, Bloomberg Financial Markets UK, SecTrust (now Afriinvest), Transcorp Corporation and Northern Trust Corporation of Chicago, UK.

Dupe studied Economics at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom and obtained her M.Sc. in Development Economics from the University of Kent. She is Prince 2, PMP and Investor Management Certified (all UK). She is passionate about women development and empowerment, economic development of under-developed countries and financial inclusion for the disadvantaged in the society. She has been honoured by several global bodies, including been listed on Ventures Africa’s 10 Most Influential Nigerian CEOs of 2015.
