Samsung appoints Oyetola Akeredolu as Trade Marketing Manager

Leading electronic manufacturer, Samsung has appointed Oyetola Akeredolu as its Trade Marketing Manager to oversee the Nigeria, Togo and Chad markets.

Speaking exclusively to MARKETING EDGE, the marketing professionals who has honed her skills through decades of delivering iconic solutions to brands, expressed enthusiasm to deploy her wealth of experience to deepen the growth of the Samsung brand in the African market.

“As an assistant brand manager, I managed a lot of projects for different brands which has enabled me acquire the requisite knowledge and capabilities for my current role” she said.

Commenting on her career trajectory, she stated: “I started as an on-air personality in University, to working as call center agent. Then I did PR and social media. While trying out these different roles, I found out I enjoyed giving solutions to customers as well as product marketing. This led to me to do a Masters in marketing.

“After my Masters at School of Media and Communication, I got some internship offers but I was determined to be in the brand management space, so I took an unpaid internship in Cadbury Nigeria where I met my mentor Tolulope Olaoye, who taught me all I know” she added.

In this role, the highly cerebral marketer will be responsible for increasing the visibility and market positioning for the Mobile and Electronics division in Nigeria and 3 other countries through Retail Activations, OOH, POSM, Events and campaigns.

Prior to this appointment, she was the Brand Manager of Caplux paint at Chemical and Allied Products Plc and has worked as Brand Management Support (Cocoa Beverage Category) at Mondelēz International.

Oyetola Akeredolu holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA), European Languages (French) from the University of Lagos, Akoka and a Masters in Media and Communications from Pan Atlantic University. She holds a Diploma certificate in digital marketing from Orange academy.

She is an experienced brand manager who has demonstrated a history of working in the consumer goods industry and the Paint Industry is skilled in Brand Management, Strategy Development, Budgeting, Business Planning, and Analytical Skills.
