PHD Nigeria partners WRT Foundation, marks Big Hug Day, to empower mothers

PHD Nigeria, one of the world’s fastest growing agency networks, has celebrated its Big Hug Day by partnering the Wives Roundtable Foundation (WRT) to empower mothers. The event is part of its corporate social responsibility.

The beneficiaries would be setup with businesses and follow through a process of counselling, education and mentorship to help grow their businesses.

“PHD is extremely proud of the partnership with WRT aimed at empowering women. Since the role of mothers in the growth of society cannot be overemphasised and as enshrined in the name of our Initiative, Big Hug, we are using this partnership to extend our hugs to mothers,” an official statement revealed.

PHD’s Big Hug charity initiative reflects the agency’s belief that generosity, community spirit and offering to help without being asked are essential characteristics for the growth of mankind.

Since launching Big Hug in 2011 to celebrate PHD Global turning 21, PHD agencies have raised millions in cash donations and contributed thousands of hours to good causes around the world.

“We truly believe charity, generosity, community spirit and selfless service are essential characteristics for the growth of mankind. As an organisation, we would constantly play our part to the development of society,” the statement added.

In 2017, the Big Hug Initiative partnered the Patrick Speech and Language Centre with a talent show for kids living with autism to people’s knowledge about autism in Nigeria and create awareness about the centre’s ability to help, as well as demonstrate that children living with autism have talents and can be helped to live normally and get integrated into mainstream schooling.

The network is part of the Omnicom Media Group, a division of Omnicom Group Incorporation.
