Pernod Ricard appoints veteran marketer Ann Mukherjee as CEO

French beverage giant Pernod Ricard’s North American operations are now under new leadership with the appointment of veteran marketer Ann Mukherjee as chairman and chief executive officer.

Mukherjee replaces Paul Duffy in the role from 2 December, following the incumbent’s decision to move back to his native Ireland, ending a quarter-century-long career at the business.

Alexandre Ricard, chairman and chief executive officer of Pernod Ricard, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Ann to our Executive Committee. Her comprehensive marketing and commercial expertise will not only undoubtedly contribute to furthering the transformation of our ever-more consumer-oriented company, but to achieving our first and foremost objective: to accelerate our growth in our number one market, the United States.”

Mukerjee brings over 30 years’ experience in a variety of sales and marketing roles including managing the Kraft Mac & Cheese, Kraft Singles, Taco Bell and Minute Ric brands for Kraft Foods. This was followed by spells as marketing vice president for Quaker Snacks and chief marketing officer for Frito-Lay.

Latterly Mukherjee served as the first global chief marketing officer for S.C. Johnson & Son before being promoted to global chief commercial officer.
