Nigerian Exchange Group appoints Oscar Onyema as GCEO

Year 2021 seems to be a year of hierarchical transition and change of mantle for many organizations, and it looks like the Nigerian Stock Exchange Group Plc. does not want to be left out in upward movement. This, it has demonstrated with the appointment of Oscar Oscar Onyema as the company’s Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO). The announcement was made by the national council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) upon completion of its ongoing demutualisation.

The Council equally disclosed that Temi Popoola and Tinuade Awe emerged as CEOs of Nigerian Exchange Group Ltd. and NGX Regulation Ltd respectively.

The new appointments, which are in line with the demutualisation plan of the Exchange, are still subject to the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Once the demutualisation plan is completed, a new non-operating holding company, the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc., (NGX Group) would be created, and the NGX Group will be in three operating subsidiaries: Nigerian Exchange Limited, the operating exchange, NGX Regulation Ltd, the independent regulatory arm, and Nigerian Group Exchange Real Estate Ltd., the real estate company.
