MTN, Piggyvest, others make 2024 CNBC’s top Fintech companies

Seven African companies have been listed as part of the 250 leading fintech companies in the world.

The listing annually conducted by an American news and business channel, CNBC, in its World’s Top Fintech Companies 2024 report listed MTN, Piggyvest, Flutterwave and Kuda.

The report, done in partnership with market research firm Statista, highlighted relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for over 2,000 eligible companies between March and May 2024.

The companies were segmented into eight different categories, which are alternate finance, banking solutions, business process solutions, digital assets, financial planning, neo-banking, payments and wealth technology.

Among the top 250 firms, five Nigerian companies made the list. Kuda featured in the neo-banking category; Palmpay, Flutterwave, MTN Momo were listed in the payment segment; Piggyvest was included in the financial planning category.
