MIPAN Gets Secretariat

As part of renewed efforts to reposition the media advertising sector in Nigeria and make it more responsive to the contemporary needs of its clients and practioners, the Media Independent Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) has acquired a befitting office apartment which will soon become home to its secretariat.

Until now, MIPAN, which is the umbrella body for media advertising agencies in Nigeria didn’t have a fixed address. Its administrative functions were usually done from members’ offices and this was a major impediment on the efficiency of the association, MIPAN Executive Secretary said.

The secretariat is located on 22a Olatunbosun Street, inside the upscale Shonibare Estate in Maryland, Lagos. Incidentally, it shares the same neighborhood with one of the leading media agencies in Nigeria, Mediareach.
Adzufeh exclusively told MARKETING EDGE that the office which was recently acquired is expected to be in full operation very soon as MIPAN has already concluded arrangement to furnish it and make it fully ready for office activities.

The secretariat is credit to the Dr. Ken Onyeali Ikpe’s tenure as MIPAN President and the commitment of his executive to rebrand MIPAN and make it a robust resource and human capacity development centre for media advertising practitioners in Nigeria.

Adzufeh noted that the secretariat when in full operation will bring dignity and prestige to MIPAN and give its members a sense of pride among their contemporaries.

It could be recalled that last Thursday, three agencies were inducted into the MIPAN fold; they are SBI Media, founded by Rotimi Bankole, Charles Obi’s Mec Global Media and FCB Brand Resources where Violet Nath-Okoduwa calls the shot. The induction which was supervised by Dr. Ikpe was done inside the boardroom of Brand Eye in Maryland.
