Meta, in partnership with Ingressive for Good, an edtech nonprofit focused on enhancing the employability of African youth in the tech sector, is providing scholarships to empower over 5,000 young individuals in Nigeria, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, and Kenya to excel in their digital careers.

This scholarship program aims to meet the growing demand for digital marketing expertise while arming African youth with the necessary skills to compete globally. The scholarship program, developed by Meta and Aptly experts and available on Coursera, offers a thorough introduction to digital marketing covering major social media platforms. It’s open to learners worldwide.

After completing the program, participants will undergo a 30-day job readiness bootcamp to acquire vital soft skills and receive mentorship from industry leaders. Known for its impactful work in Africa’s tech landscape, Ingressive for Good has joined forces with Meta to cultivate a cohort of highly skilled professionals poised to lead innovation and foster growth across various sectors.

Following the completion of the previous groups, more than 30% of program graduates successfully found employment. Additionally, some participants established robust connections within the community and even started their own marketing agencies.

Balkissa Ide Siddo, serving as Meta’s Public Policy Director for Africa, underscored the significance of the program and Meta’s dedication to enhancing the skills and opportunities of African youth.
