Meet MARKETING EDGE’s panelist @ Annual Marketing Stakeholders Summit 2021- Abena Annan

Abena Annan is the Masterbrand Marketing Manager at Sterling Bank, responsible for developing strategic direction and building equity for the Sterling flagship brand.

As a seasoned Marketing Communications Professional with more than 14 years’ experience, Abena is known for driving brand growth, maximizing operational excellence and delivering financial performance.

Recently, she served as Head of Client Services and Brand Management at Isobar by helping to deliver market-leading campaigns and experiences for Coca-Cola, Beiersdorf and Budweiser, to name a few.

Prior to that, Abena worked as a communications consultant, brand strategist, journalist and digital marketer at different times with Vizeum, MediaCom, Multimedia Group Ltd (MultiTV), African Safari Media and Sony Music Entertainment. Her work experiences, spanning across three markets: the USA, Ghana and Nigeria which as enriched her portfolio.

In 2015, Abena co-authored the book “The Convergence of Nations: Why Africa’s Time is Now” alongside Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, Kingsley Moghalu and influential Africans, published by OMFIF. She was also one of 200 globally selected participants of Leaders of Tomorrow for the 41st edition of The St. Gallen Symposium, Switzerland, the only participant from Sub-Saharan Africa.

An alumna of the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences of Bernard M. Baruch College, New York, she is also a Google Certified AdWords Professional and enjoys adding value to women’s lives in her spare time through her clean living e-zine Obaasema.

Abena is a brand, marketing and communications professional with over 13 years. Her working experience span across corporate communications, TV programming/broadcast/production, brand management and advertising in three markets: The United States, Ghana and Nigeria.

Abena is passionate about creative and innovative projects that deliver solutions for brands.

With a Bachelor’s degree from Bernard M. Baruch College, New York, NY, some of her work have involved developing communication strategies for private and public sector organizations, building brand equity for a bouquet of 10 channels online and offline for a leading private-owned TV network in West Africa, developing digital strategies as well as digital planning and buying for brands ranging from Telco, beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), personal care, financial institutions and FMCG.

When Abena is not managing clients, she is working on ways to engage women by adding    value to their daily routine via clean living e-zine, Obaasema.
