Meet MARKETING EDGE panelist @ Annual Marketing Stakeholders Summit 2021 – Bada Akintunde-Johnson
Bada Akintunde-Johnson is the Country Manager for ViacomCBS Networks Africa where he oversees entertainment brands such as MTVBase, Nickelodeon, BET and Comedy Central in Nigeria.
Close to two decades now, he has worked in the Marketing communications and Media spaces. Prior to his current role, he has worked in advertising agency as Creative Director Globacom, he created some of the most talked about and most awarded campaigns of the last decade in Nigeria.
He also created successful advertising campaigns for brands such as Guinness, Johnnie Walker, UAC foods, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Harp, Smirnoff Ice, Gordon Sparks, Malta Guinness, Zenith Bank, FCMB, Adidas, ExxonMobil, Lagos City Marathon, Indomie and many other top brands whilst working for TBWA Concepts, Centrespread FCB and SO&U, some of Nigeria’s most awarded and most reputable creative agencies.
He was also the Creative Manager at HiTV, Nigeria’s biggest indigenous pay-tv platform for some time where he led the in-house post-production and creative agency teams.
He started his career as a presenter and producer with Galaxy Television Lagos and continues to be a popular and respected Sports media personality. He has and continues to work extensively as a soccer pundit regularly featured on the live broadcasts of football competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, The English Premier League, La Liga, the Bundesliga, the FIFA World Cup and some of the most watched Sports shows across major television and radio stations in Nigeria.
Bada co-owned a record label and a talent management company Peaceville Entertainment which managed and still manages superstar musicians and producers such as Vector tha Viper, Dija, Nosa, Babyfresh, Egar Boi, Ozedikus, London, Cleo Thelma and Protek.
He is very passionate about leadership, family, Africa, music and football. He hopes to play his part in changing the mindsets that have held our continent back for centuries. He is a graduate of Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan; he holds a postgraduate diploma in Marketing Communications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing London and is currently studying for an MBA at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership in Germany.
When he is not working, he likes to sing, listen to and make music, research black history, watch documentaries, play video games (P.E.S on PlayStation) and mentor young people.
