Being an On Air Personality (OAP) is one of the exciting professional pursuits, but to be truly cut out for the profession is another thing. Television profession, like any other celebrity profession, requires certain personality traits to be successful. Having and constantly honing one’s skills to communicate in a team environment is one thing, being earnest and truly involved in what one is doing by forming a connection with one’s audience is also quite another. Only a few individuals fit neatly into this category.
Nigeria’s top rated urban, young, vibrant and entertainment TV station, TVC has unveiled celebrity voice over artist and OAP Mazi’no Appeal Ofoh as the new host for its number one family entertainment lifestyle show, ‘Wake Up Nigeria’.
Generating so much positive buzz online, Mazino Appeal was formally unveiled on the show on Monday, 3rd August, 2020. He replaces Yomi Owope who recently stepped down after 3 years of hosting the Wake Up Nigeria show on TVC.
An elated Mazi’no expressed his delight at the opportunity, describing it as a dream come true. He said: ‘I feel honored to be a part of the TVC Communications family and I appreciate the chance given me to host one of the flagship shows on TVC, Wake Up Nigeria. It is a great feeling and I am looking forward to the experience.’
Speaking about the change in personnel, Olamide Oshoffa, the lead producer of Wake Up Nigeria show said that Yomi Owope did an amazing job with the show and would remain a great friend of the house. Mazino brings so much energy and expertise on the show and the entire production team cannot wait to unfold the great plans in stock for him.
Commenting on the develoment, John Ajayi, the Managing Director of Marketing Edge, said: “Great one TVC for head-hunting Mazino. He is no doubt a great OAP and perfect guy at his trade. We expect a more exciting, more appealing and more attention grabbing Wake Up call from TVC, the home of excellence in TV entertainment and avant-garde broadcast journalism.”
